In order to be able to perform these complex skills, appropriate training is required. Whether by professional body obligation or as a voluntary option, almost every professional within the veterinary sectors undertakes therefore some form of Continuing Professional Development.
Continuing professional development for veterinarians ensures the delivery of quality veterinary services and VAHL ensures making veterinary education easier, more accessible and affordable. We have grown continuously over the years, which has enabled us to diversify, explore new areas, set new standards and reach people worldwide. Located in Babenhausen near Frankfurt, Germany, the Veterinary Academy of Higher Learning has a rich history. At the turn of the millennium, Dr. Beate Egner, CEO of the companies, founded the Schloss Seminars, a continuing education opportunity focused on the core topics of veterinary medicine. Schloss-Seminar has been recognized internationally, and partners with the University of Tennessee (UT) and many other universities worldwide. This concept has became an international success known around the world as the Veterinary Academy of Higher Learning (VAHL).

VAHL has gained a worldwide reputation by offering and conducting high-quality, academic CPD programs. Furthermore VAHL works actively in lobbying for the profession of the veterinary rehabilitation and physical therapy. The role of VAHL is to foster innovation and promote excellence in veterinary medical education.

Promote the art and science of canine and equine rehabilitation. We are dedicated to our teaching mission including quality life-long education through continuing education. The VAHL comprehensive rehabilitation certification program takes a candidate from the anatomical and physiological basis of veterinary rehabilitation and physical modalities to implementing a contemporary rehabilitation program. VAHL has been recognized internationally and partners with the University of Tennessee (UT), Vetmeduni Wien and many other universities worldwide.
From the initial planning phases, Veterinary Academy of Higher Learning (VAHL) has been extensively involved in the development of the new Center for Animal Mobility at the Ludwig Maximilian University and has continued to support the university with their expertise and diverse network. The veterinary medical faculty and the Veterinary Academy of Higher Learning are closely associated with one another as evident through their cooperative activities.
For example, Dr. Barbara Esteve Ratsch has been a faculty member with the Veterinary Academy of Higher Learning (VAHL) since 2018, and the VAHL reciprocates by providing lecturers for seminars at the university veterinary medical clinic.
VAHL, in close cooperation with the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, organizes physical medicine and rehabilitation academic continuing education for veterinarians in order for them to become Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioners (CCRP®).

Our certificate programs in canine and equine rehabilitation offers a series of postgraduate courses for veterinary professionals, physical therapists and veterinary technicians. After successful completion of all the online, e-learning and practical courses and after successfully passing the examination, participations will receive the title “Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner” or “Certified Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner”.
